It has been a while since I did one of these, and a few things have entered my life that genuinely changed my daily routine. So here we go.
01 — The Lip I Never Take Off
Have you tried this yet? It’s called a HydroBalm and the name is completely accurate — I have never had a lip product feel this good and look this right. I wear Onyx. And I’ll say what I always say about Westman Atelier: I have yet to find another beauty brand that delivers on every single product. Every one.
02 — The Agenda Upgrade
I recommended a different agenda last year, but Elizabeth in my office introduced me to this one and I haven't looked back. What I love most is that you design it yourself, every page, every layout, and it arrives in the mail as your perfect, fully realized planner. It’s so great because I can have both my work schedule, my son’s school schedule, and my personal schedule all in one. For someone who has to write everything by hand to make it real, this is everything. The paper quality alone is worth it.
03 — An Umbrella Worth Keeping
Spring in Paris means rain, and I spent years buying cheap umbrellas, losing them, watching them turn inside out on the first gust. So, I made the investment. I found a beautiful chocolate brown one from Parapluie de Cherbourg, and something interesting happened; I stopped losing my umbrella entirely. When you love something, you take care of it.
04 — The Elegance of a Leather Glove
This year I discovered leather gloves, and I find them so quietly, effortlessly elegant that they ended up in CO’s show. Agnelle does them beautifully and they won’t rob your bank.
05 — The Glow Formula
I'm not sure this is technically how you're supposed to use it, but I press it onto my cheekbones as a highlighter, blend it with my favorite Westman Atelier brush and it gives me exactly the glow and color I love; like wearing nothing at all, but better. That's all I need to know.
06 — Sunscreen, Finally
I found the one. The sunscreen that doesn't stick, doesn't leave a film, and lets me still get a little color in summer. This is controversial; I never wore sunblock until I discovered this last summer. I pair it with their Vitamin C and my skin has never been happier. A genuine discovery.
07 — Stop Looking. I Found Your Serum.
That's it. That's the serum. The search is over.
08 — The Best Vintage in Paris
My new favorite earrings are vintage, and they came from here. If you find yourself in Paris, this is a must. It is not the kind of vintage shopping where the thrill is the bargain. More like you develop anxiety when you ask for the price. But it is the kind where every piece feels like a considered investment. The curation is extraordinary. I am currently eyeing an Hermès leather jacket and exercising what little restraint I have. I probably won’t get it and stick to be happy with my new vintage earrings.
09 — The Bath Ritual
I take a bath every day. It’s the 20m me time I can afford. These are the salts I love. My entire bathroom and bedroom smells amazing afterwards and so do I.
10 — The CO Piece I Wear the Most
I always include something from CO, and right now this is what I reach for constantly. Our new long sleeve crewneck tees are so thin and so light they layer perfectly under sweaters and cardigans and worn on their own with a great trouser they have this barely-there, slightly transparent quality that I find genuinely sexy without trying. I have them in both colors, and I'll confess in three sizes each. I wear them every single day.
