Pre-collections have always felt like a quiet threshold to me. They are the in-between, the pause between seasons where we exhale, take stock, and gently turn toward what comes next. They are transitional by nature, but they are also deeply generative.
In this liminal space, ideas often arrive unexpectedly: a silhouette I’ve been circling for months suddenly clarifies, a fabric reveals its purpose, a mood becomes a direction. It’s the moment where we are allowed to dream, to envision, to reinvent before we commit fully again.
Within these collections, I often find the pieces that ground me the most: the forever knitwear I reach for instinctively, the perfect little black dress, the classic bomber that feels both modern and familiar, the effortless sportswear I pack for my trips back to Los Angeles, and the special pieces that carry me gently into holiday dressing.
Transitions have always held a certain kind of beauty for me. They are filled with light, with quiet optimism, with the promise of a new chapter just around the corner. And in many ways, that is what pre-collection is: an invitation to step forward, thoughtfully and with intention, into what comes next.
Love,
Stephanie
